Ingredients
- 4 cups brewed black tea (or herbal tea of your choice), cooled
- 2–3 tablespoons lavender simple syrup, to taste (recipe below)
- Juice of 1 lemon (optional)
- Ice
- Fresh lavender sprigs and lemon slices, for garnish
Lavender Simple Syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender buds
- Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the dried lavender buds and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Remove from heat and steep for 20 minutes.
- Strain through a fine mesh sieve, discarding the lavender buds.
- Cool completely before using. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Directions
- Brew your tea and allow it to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold.
- Pour the cold tea into a pitcher or tall glass over ice.
- Stir in lavender simple syrup to taste — start with 2 tablespoons and adjust from there.
- Add lemon juice if using and stir to combine.
- Garnish with a fresh lavender sprig and lemon slice and serve immediately.
