A lavender simple syrup is the secret ingredient behind so many lavender-infused recipes. You can use this simple syrup in lemonade, coffee, cookies, cakes, teas, etc. Once you make it, be sure to experiment and let us know what you've found and enjoy!
Lavender Simple Syrup Recipe:
Needed:
-1 cup of water
-1 cup of sugar (or equivalent sweetener of your choice)
-2 tablespoons of culinary lavender buds (available in our shop here)
Instructions:
Bring water to a boil, stir in sugar until completely dissolved, then steep lavender buds in the hot mixture for 10 minutes. You can add the lavender buds directly to the hot mixture or put them in a tea bag to keep things neat. After they have steeped, remove the buds from the mixture either by straining or just removing the tea bag. Store the lavender simple syrup in a sealed container (like a canning jar) in the refrigerator until you need it.
Yield:
This recipe makes a little less than 1.5 cups of simple syrup and should keep just fine in the refrigerator for several weeks.
You can double and triple the recipe as needed.
